BLOOMSBURG - Mount Carmel Area's Mikael Hause and Southern Columbia's Andrew Steely will try to make return trips to the state cross country championships when they compete Thursday at the District 4 cross country championships at Bloomsburg University, starting at 9:30 a.m.
Hause, a Lourdes Regional senior who runs for Mount Carmel, is a two-time state qualifier, and Steely, a sophomore, earned a trip to Hershey as a freshman last season.
The first of four races, the AA girls race, starts at 9:30 a.m. on Bloomsburg's upper campus course. The AAA boys race, in which Shamokin Area will compete, follows at 10:15, with the AA boys running at 11 a.m. and the AAA girls at 11:45.
Two teams and 10 individuals will qualify for the state meet in the AA races, and one team and five individuals in the AAA races. The state championship meet will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, in Hershey.
Northeast Bradford (AA) and Jersey Shore (AAA) are defending boys teams champions, and Lewisburg (AA) and Danville (AAA) are defending girls champs.
