Contest winners listed

Of the 179 entrants in Week Nine of the News-Item's Football Contest, six people guessed 11 games correctly.

Jim Weissinger, of 500 S. Hickory St., in Mount Carmel, won first place with the closest guess to most points scored by a team without going over. Southern Columbia scored the most points in its 55-13 win over Central Mountain. Weissinger guessed 53 and wins a $50 gift certificate to any of the participating businesses in the contest.

In second place, was Tony Strike, of 321 Webster St., in Ranshaw. Strike guessed 53 for most points scored and wins a $25 gift certificate to any of the participating businesses.

Debbie Shultz, of 621 W. Mulberry St. in Shamokin, won third place and a $15 gift certificate with a guess of 49.

Along with the three winners, the three other entrants that guessed 11 games correctly will be entered into the end-of-year $200 drawing. They are: Len Tocyloski, of Kulpmont; Terry Taylor, of Shamokin; and Barb Scott, of Shamokin.
