Thad Strike, of 321 Webster St., in Ranshaw, was the Week 6 winner of the News-Item's Football Contest.
Strike was one of four to guess 11 games correctly out of 180, and won by guessing the closest to the highest points scored by a team with a guess of 54. Southern Columbia scored the most with a 55-14 win over Mount Carmel, Friday.
Strike wins a $50 gift certificate to any of the participating businesses in the contest.
Mary M. Derk, of 905 W. Independence St., in Coal Township, won second place with a highest score guess of 50. She wins a $25 gift certificate.
Gas Co. Rockers, of 501 N. Vine St., in Shamokin, won third place and a $15 gift certificate to any of the participating businesses.
Bob Demshock Sr., of Coal Township, also guessed 11 games correctly, but lost the tiebreaker. Along with the three winners, Demshock will be entered into the end-of-year $200 drawing.
