Snyder Memorial Legion Tournament set
MANDATA - The Kip Snyder Memorial Legion Baseball Tournament will take place on Saturday, June 14, at Line Mountain Middle/High School.
The event is held in memory of Kip A. Snyder, a former member of the Line Mountain American Legion team, who lost his life in a cabin fire in 1998 along with 10 other friends.
Teams participating in this year's tournament are the Legion teams from Carlisle, Upper Dauphin, and Sunbury. Carlisle and Upper Dauphin will be making their first appearance in the tournament. The first game begins at 10 a.m. with the host team, Line Mountain Post 504, facing Sunbury.
The second game between Upper Dauphin and Carlisle begins at approximately 12:30.
The consolation game is scheduled for 3 p.m., and the championship game will take place at 5:30.
William Paul, who was Snyder's last high school baseball coach, will throw out the first pitch.
An MVP award will be presented at the conclusion of the tournament.
The public is encouraged to attend this admission free tournament.
