COAL TOWNSHIP - Southern Columbia's Mackenzie Clark scored 10 points, and Mount Carmel's Paige Hornung and Ali Varano scored nine and eight, respectively, to lead the Northumberland County stars over the Surrounding County stars, 48-35, in the girls portion of Sunday's 15th Annual Senior All-Star Basketball Games at Lourdes Regional School.
The games are sponsored by the Northumberland Area Recreation Commission to raise money to support various recreation projects in Northumberland and surrounding counties.
Selinsgrove's Laura Long scored 10 points and Bloomsburg's Mallory Fry nine for the Surrounding County team.
Four players scored in double figures to lead the Surrounding Counties to a convincing 86-52 win over Northumberland County in the boys game. Mahanoy Area's Dylan Mahmod led the way with 19 points. North Schuylkill's Matt Manbeck scored 15 points, Mahanoy Area's Larry McNeil 11 and Lewisburg's Will Sigl 10.
For Northumberland County, Warrior Run's Zach Miller scored 11 points, and Shamokin's Austin Stine and Danville's Zach Kozick had 10 points each.
