POTTSVILLE - North Schuylkill's boys won two events and finished second to Pottsville at the 41st Annual Schuylkill Relays at Veterans Stadium.
The team of Daniel McSurdy, Shawn McGrath, Tyler Matunis and Jacob Schmoltze won the shuttle hurdles in 50.2 seconds, and Brady Simms and Mike Shinkus combined to win the shot put with a total of 87 feet, 7 inches.
Pottsville had 110 points to North Schuylkill's 75.
Kelsy Kramer and Carter Green combined to win the girls discus for North Schuylkill at 195 feet, 10 inches. North Schuylkill's girls finished sixth with 35 points. Blue Mountain won the girls competition with 99 points.

WEST CHESTER - The Shamokin boys 3,200-relay team broke a seven-year old school record Friday at the West Chester Invitational.
The team of Brandon Nash, Brandon Mendoza, Jon Grybos and Matt Gass ran an 8:08.4, beating the 2004 mark of 8:09.0, set by Kyle Gricoskie, Derrick Osevala, Drew Balonis and Ryan Boyer.
