Selinsgrove Speedway promoter Charlie Paige and crew hope last weekends' overflowing pit area of 37 late models were an early indication of Saturday evening's Jeff's Auto Body and Recycling Center Late Model Spring Championship car count.
The Snyder County oval will present a four-division show Saturday night with the stock cars serving as the headline class along with the 358 sprinters, pro stocks and roadrunners. Gates open at 5 p.m., with racing action to begin at 7.
Jeff and Kathy Kurtz, owners of the Jeff's Auto Body and Recycling Center on Snydertown Road, are also car owners of the potent No. 2j late model driven by six-time and defending track champion, Jeff Rine.
Rine, with two wins this season, sits 20 points behind points leader Jim Yoder who has yet to visit victory lane thus far in 2011, while Tony Adams sits in third with one victory.

Grandview Speedway will host the 358 modifieds, late models and a 40-lap small car enduro at the Bechtelsville oval tomorrow night.
The Central Pa. 410 sprint car drivers, known collectively as the "Pa. The Outlaw Series is at Tony Stewart's Eldora (Ohio) Speedway tonight and Saturday, before heading to Mechanicsburg next weekend.
The program at the Grove this evening starts at 7:30 and will include time trials and qualifying events, leading up to the 30-lap, $4,000 main event.
The track returns to action Saturday night with the winged super sportsman, limited late models and street stocks, with a 6:30 starting time.
Other racing action includes Lincoln Speedway hosting the 358 and 410 sprint cars along with thundercars; Port Royal Speedway hosts Ladie's Night Saturday evening in honor of Mother's Day, as the Juniata County oval offers 410 sprint cars, late models, ARDC Midgets and a ladies's powder puff race; and Maryland's Hagerstown Speedway is off Saturday night, so it should be interesting to see if any Hub City regulars come up to Selinsgrove.
Local drag racers continue to find success at the Dimino family-owned, Numidia Dragway. Brandon Cox took junior street honors last Friday night, while Jeff Krushinskie claimed the pro title on Sunday. Vince Shrawder took the super pro class.
An active three-day program is on tap this weekend at Numidia with street legal drags tonight. A special "Combo in the Hills" stock and super stock program for all NHRA and IHRA legal cars, with $10,000 going to the winner is on Saturday's schedule along with a Summit Series Points race event, while Sunday's show will be a full Summit Series Points event.
