Everyone watching the New York Giants game last Sunday night probably had the same reaction - He did what?
Southern Columbia alum Henry Hynoski not only caught four passes for 31 yards as the Giants beat the Cowboys and earned a spot in the NFC playoffs, but he hurdled Cowboys' cornerback Terence Newman like they were playing a sandlot game.
Everyone from various media outlets to a New York state assemblyman tweeted about the "Hynoski Hurdle" - the latest in a love affair with the hard-charging undrafted free agent out of the University of Pittsburgh.
It was so far the most memorable play in the most memorable game for the rookie fullback, but that's about to change when the Atlanta Falcons come to MetLife Stadium today at 1 p.m. in a wild card round game.
"I was telling my parents before the game that the Dallas game was the biggest game I was ever going to be playing in in my life," Hynoski told Giants.com, "And then I said after that this game is going to be the biggest game I ever played in. You just have to take that approach, and like last week the motto is 'All in.'"
With his prime-time performance, which in one night equalled the career receiving numbers for his father Henry Sr., Hynoski now ranks eighth on the Giants in receiving with 12 receptions for 83 yards this season, and his production is a welcome change from the six games he missed with injuries.
Since Hynoski's return in late November, the Giants have rushed for 100 yards in three of their four last games, winning each one to propel the Giants to the NFC East title and today's game with Atlanta.
Today's game will be broadcast on FOX.
