Justin Henderson scored the final sprint car win of the season at Williams Grove Speedway on Saturday Night as part of the Fall Fest program.
Henderson, a native of Sioux Falls, S.D., took the lead on lap six from Brian Leppo and then dominated the final 19 laps of the 25 lap main event.
The victory was worth $3,600 for Henderson's second Grove win of the season. He drives a sprinter owned by Charlie and Dawn Sorokach of Minersville.
Daryn Pittman, Steve Buckwalter, Fred Rahmer and Greg Hodnett followed Henderson. Lance Dewease is the 2011 Williams Grove sprint car champion. He drives for Donny and Lisa Owens. Dewease will spend the winter recovering from a broken neck suffered two weeks ago at Lincoln Speedway.
Eric Tomecek held off a last-lap charge by Pat Cannon to win the make-up feature for the 358 sprints. Cannon came back to win the second race. Cannon is the 358 sprint champion for the fourth time in his career.
Carmen Perigo Jr. won the super sportsman feature at the Grove and Gene Knaub won the 358 late model feature.
On Friday night at Lincoln Speedway, Hodnett and Danny Dietrich won the twin 20s for the sprint cars.
Hagerstown Speedway presents its Octoberfest this weekend with qualifying on Saturday afternoon and features for the sprints, late models, big and small block modifieds on Sunday afternoon.
Selinsgrove Speedway will hold its annual Flea Market on Saturday beginning at 7 a.m. It is open to all types of motorsports vendors. It's $15 for a space. Admission for shoppers is free.
The speedway awards banquet will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel.
The speedway champions included Blane Heimbach of Selinsgrove in the 358 sprints, Jeff Rine of Danville in the late models, AJ Hoffman of Richfield in the pro stocks and Bob Bussey of Northumberland in the roadrunners.
Off season improvements are underway and include the replacement of lighting poles and wiring from the track's first to third turn. Sifted clay is also expected to start arriving.
