ELYSBURG - The Brush Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce had another successful golf tournament earlier this year at Knoebels Three Ponds.
"With all of the rain we have had lately, we were lucky to get an absolutely wonderful afternoon of golf in," said Steve Minker, chairman of the golf committee.
The chamber would like to thank the participants, sponsors, businesses and organizations that supported the tournament with teams, hole sponsorships and donations toward auction baskets and door prizes.
Proceeds from the tournament will continue to support the chamber's efforts to preserve and strengthen the valley's business environment and quality of life.
"The day was filled with fun, and many networking opportunities," said chamber director Sandy Winhofer.
Some of the highlights of the day included:
Closet to pin winners: Hole 5, Minker, Brewser's SportsGrille team; Hole 6, Bill Chesney, Wealth Professionals team; Hole 10, Gary Fenix, Committee to Elect Jerry Waugh Coal Township Commissioner team; and Hole 17, Sen. John Gordner, Central Susquehanna Opportunities Inc. (CSO) team.
Longest drive: Hole 8, Minker.
First flight winners: first, Wealth Professionals team, Mike Woytowich, Jim Wisloski, Bill Chesney Sr. and Bill Chesney Jr., 59; second, Brewser's SportsGrille team, Geno Welsh, Dave Stancavage, Minker and Matt Davies, 60
Second Flight Winners: 1st, CSO team, Harry Morgan, state Sen. John Gordner, Brock Marshalek and Dan Klebon, 68; second, First National Insurance team, Marty Brown, Pete Long, Paul Sandri and Matt Reiprish, 68.
Putting contest: Family Home Medical team, Jack Miller, Ted Yeager and Charlie Feifer.
The chamber would like to recognize and thank their sponsors. Sponsorship included greens fees, cart fees, lunch, dinner and tournament novelty.
