H.S. SPORTS: Line Mountain falls to Halifax 69-62

MANDATA - Line Mountain and Halifax boys basketball went into halftime tied at 29, but the Wildcats had a 26-point fourth quarter to knock off the Eagles, 69-62.

CJ Reichard led Line Mountain and the game with 29 points and Logan Ingram scored 10.

The team did well beyond the arc, scoring eight 3-pointers.

The Eagles won the JV game 39-32.

Line Mountain is now 0-2 on the season after falling to Southern Columbia in its season opener.

Girls basketball

Mount Carmel 58, Milton 49

MILTON - Maura Fiamoncini scored 21 points, including seven from the free-throw line to lift the Red Tornadoes over Milton.

Nicole Varano scored 14 points, Jen Bolick had eight and Amanda Arellano added seven.

Mount Carmel also hit 18 of 25 free throws as a team.

It was the Red Tornadoes' second win in as many games.

The team plays Hughesville in its next game, Wednesday.
