LEWISBURG - Twenty-nine seconds.

That's all Line Mountain had to get through to dethrone nine-time defending District 4 champion Selinsgrove Tuesday in the semifinals at Bucknell University.

Up 1-0 after a goal on a penalty stroke by Lauren Scheib with just 5:39 left in the game, Line Mountain seemed destined to exact revenge on the Seals, who beat the Eagles 1-0 in the regular season.

Line Mountain then called a timeout with 3:40 left and discussed its strategy to close out the Seals.

"When we called our timeout, they said they knew it wasn't over until the final buzzer," Line Mountain head coach Heather Kieffer said. "The girls knew they couldn't play frantic, but Selinsgrove earned that corner and they got it in."

Selinsgrove, which had the edge in total shots, time of possession and corners, used its 16th corner of the game and fourth after Line Mountain's goal to tie the game at 1-1.

Emily Klingler took an input pass from Brooke Zeiders and one-timed it past Line Mountain goalie Katelyn Campbell with just 29 seconds left in regulation.

Campbell, however, played a whale of a game and only because of her 11 saves was Line Mountain in position to beat the Seals.

Then in overtime, Line Mountain jumped out and set the tone early, reeling off three shots in the first seven minutes of the extra

period, before Selinsgrove got its bearings.

"The girls did a great job of breaking down the pace and moving things in our favor," Kieffer said.

Campbell and the Eagles' defense faced another barrage of last-second corners and shots from Selinsgrove and with just 37 seconds left in the first overtime Megan Wetzel scored the game winner for the Seals.

"The whole coaching staff is extremely proud of the girls," Kieffer said. "We definitely knew we'd be in this game the whole way. We weren't hoping it would go to overtime, but we have a really strong 7-on-7 team so we knew we could compete there, too."

Selinsgrove will play the winner of the other semifinal featuring Bloomsburg and Lewisburg.
