Tuesday at Shamokin Area Elementary gym, 3rd-4th-5th grades, 5 p.m.; 6th-7th-8th-9th grades, 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Shamokin Area High School gym, all girls, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Little League Baseball Winter Practice
Saturdays, Feb. 19 26, and March 5, 12, in the Shamokin Annex gym, 2-4 p.m. each day.
Ed Romance Tickets
Tickets for the Ed Romance Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame banquet, set for March 26, may be purchased by calling Frank Niglio at 205-0762 or at the Community Pharmacy.
SCA Elementary Boys Basketball
Southern Columbia varsity boys basketball coach Dave Yost will hold a boys elementary basketball program Feb. 19 and 26. Sessions will be in the high school gym with students from grades 5 and 6 going from 8 to 9:15 a.m. each day, and students in grades 3 and 4 going from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. each day. S/CT Little League Registration
Registrations, Saturday, Feb. 19, 10 a.m. to noon, and Wednesday, March 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Miller Family Health Center, 255 W. Spruce St., Shamokin. Registrations are for any child from four to 12 residing in the Shamokin Area or Mount Carmel Area school districts may register to play Little League baseball. Coaching registrations will also be accepted at this time. All players must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and new players must bring a birth certificate. The fee is $20 for the first child, and $10 for each additional child in the same family. The fee goes up to $30 for the first child, and $15 for each additional child after March 9.
North Schuylkill Spring Physicals
North Schuylkill will be conducting its springs sports physicals on Thursday, March 3 at 9 a.m. Any student interested in going out for baseball, softball or track, and has not previously had a physical for a fall or winter sport, must get their physical at that time. Students with previous physcials must still register that day for the sport of their choice.
Clover Hose Baseball
Registration for the Junior League team, Saturday, Feb. 19, 6 to 7:30 p.m., in the truck room at 6th and Oak streets in Mount Carmel. Retgistration is for all new and returning players up to age 12. Fee is $20 per player, and new players must provide a copy of their birth certificate. All players must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
AYSO Spring Soccer Registration
Friday, Feb. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 26 from 9 a.m. to noon at the IBEW Hall on Market Street in Shamokin. Registration is for new players, those who played in the fall do not need to re-register. Cost is $32, uniforms are extra.
Shamokin Area Spring Physicals
Friday, Feb. 25, the Shamokin Area High School will offer spring sports physicals for students wishing to participate in spring sports. Students must pick up PIAA physical evaluation forms and SASD athletic policy packets in the high school principal's office prior to the examination. All forms must be completed by a parent or guardian. For any students who previously played a sports this school year, a recertification paper must be completed prior to the first day of practice on March 7.
Mount Carmel Lions

Shamokin-Coal Township Youth Girls Softball
Registration for girls ages 4-14 from the S-CT area, Feb. 19 and 26, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Shamokin Library. Registration fee is $20 for ages 4-12 and $30 for ages 13 and 14. Fee payable by cash or check made payable to SCTYGSL. All players must bring a copy of their birth certificate to registration. Those unable to attend any of the registration dates should contact Scott Faus (president) at 648-1778.

North Schuylkill Boys Basketball Booster Club tournament for 3rd and 4th-grade boys and girls, March 3 through 6, double elimination with games to be played at North Schuylkill High School. Frackville Girls Softball
Registration, Tuesday, Feb. 22, and Thursday, Feb. 24, from 6-8 p.m., in front of Schuylkill Valley Sports at the Schuylkill Mall. For players ages 7-16. The registration fee is $35 for the first girl in each family and discounts for second and third.
Little League Instruction Clinic
Saturday, March 19 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Shamokin Area High School gym. Clinic is open to any child ages four to 12. Fee is $10 and includes a t-shirt and instruction from local baseball experts. Deadline to register is March 9, and can be done at the Shamokin-Coal Township Little League registrations or by calling 644-5050 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Cabrini Junior/Teener League Baseball
Registration, Saturday, Feb. 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Brewser's Sports Grille for all new and returning players ages four to 12. Anyone from the Shamokin Area School District or residents of Zerbe Township are allowed to play. new players need a copy of birth certificate. A $40 fee will apply, and includes league fund-raiser. PJW State Qualifier
Line Mountain Wrestling Boosters will host the 2011 PJW State Championship Sectional Qualifier on Sunday, Feb. 27 at Line Mountain High School. Salvation Army Basketball Tournament
Adult teams may sign up for the annual Salvation Army benefit basketball tournament set for Friday through Sunday, April 15 to 17, at the Shamokin Area High School gymnasium. Cost is $125 per team. Shamokin Youth Volleyball League

Shamokin/Coal Township Girls Softball
Shamokin Area High School softball team will hold open gym for girls in grades 4-7 on the second and fourth Sundays of the month in the annex gym. Girls playing 10-under will practice noon to 1:30 p.m., while girls playing 12-under will practice 1:30 to 3 p.m. Open gyms will continue through April.
