The Shamokin-Mount Carmel Little League all-star teams will begin District 13 tournament play this weekend, with the Major Division (11-12 years old) team playing North Columbia Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at the Washies Field in Danville in the first game of the Area I bracket. All games will be played at the Washies.
Should Shamokin-Mount Carmel win, it would play South Columbia on Tuesday at 5:30. Should the team lose, it would play an elimination game on Wednesday, June 25, at 5:30 against the loser of Berwick vs. Danville.
The 11-12 year old team is comprised of Matthew Bellis, Aaron Christiana, Mason Filarski, Davis Marshall, Micah Miller, Cameron Orner, Adam Sandri, Kolton Scholl, Garrett Timco, and Jacob Thompson. Manager is James Sandri and Coaches are Brian Christiana, Gary Timco, and Wayne Miller.
The 10-11 year old (Junior Division) team is comprised of Hunter Bates, Collin Bozza, Tommy Bramhall, Ethan Eltringham, Aaron Frasch, Seth Hart, Hayden Kramer, Max Madden, Noah Orner, and Tyler Whary. Manager is Scott Bramhall and coaches are Rick Bozza and Rick Whary. They will begin play by facing Milton on June 23rd at Bloomsburg's Town Park Field at 5:30 p.m. Should they win that game, they will play Berwick on June 27 at 7:30 p,m. at Town Park. With a loss, the team would play against the loser of Mifflinburg and Warrior Run on July 2 at 5:30. All 10-11 games are at Town Park.
The 9-10 team will play its games at East Snyder Park in Selinsgrove. Shamokin-Mount Carmel has a first round bye and will play on June 26 against the winner between Mifflinburg and Juniata County. A loss in the first game would pit the team against loser of a game between Snyder County and Milton.
The 9-10 year old team is comprised of Korbin Kramer, Brett Nye, Hunter Rodman, Michael Rosetta, Ethan Roughton, Owen Sandri, Colin Seedor, Carter Smink, Owen Sosnoski, and Johnny Swank. The manager is Ed Smink and coaches are Brian Sosnoski, Rick Roughton, and Bill Kramer.
The 9-10 tournament is not split into separate areas and has 13 teams.
