Lourdes Youth Basketball Tournaments
Lourdes Regional will be hosting a boys 5th- and 7th grade basketball tournament, March 21-23. Tourney is double elimination with a $150 entrance fee. Space is limited. Call Pete at 570-644-5218 to register.
SCT Lady Bombers Open Practices
Open practices will be held at the Mount Carmel BSI building/police station on Vine St. Practices run every other Sunday from 3-5 p.m., and players are asked to bring $5 to cover rental fee of the gym. Ages 4-12 are invited. Please contact Dan or Christin at 570-492-0775.
Adult Open Gym at Mount Carmel Area
The district will have an open gym for adults from 7 to 9 p.m. each Sunday in the elementary gym through April 12. Sneakers or approved athletic shoes must be worn. Questions can be directed to the athletic department at Mount Carmel, 570-339-1500.
Shamokin AYSO
Spring coaches meeting, Sunday, March 23, 6 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Those not coaching in the spring season will be able to return equipment. New coaches will get their equipment, rosters, fundraising information and picture packets. A referee's meeting will follow to discuss schedules and go over rules. Anyone who is certified as a referee should attend.
Romanoski Chapter of the Sports Hall of Fame
30th anniversary induction breakfast will be Saturday, April 26 at 10 a.m. at Masser's Banquet Hall in Paxinos. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by calling Bernie Romanoski Jr. at (570) 644-0925. Deadline is Monday, April 21.
Salvation Army Tournament
The 11th annual tournament is scheduled to be played from Friday, April 11 through Sunday, April 13 at the Shamokin Area Middle-High School gymnasium. The tournament will be accepting registrations from men's teams, and is set to offer a women's bracket as well. Tournament directors are also seeking donations to help pay for PIAA officials. Little League Baseball
Any child ages 4-15 residing in the Shamokin Area or Mount Carmel Area school districts or attending Lourdes Regional, Meadowview Christian, Shamokin Area or Mount Carmel Area schools may register to play Little League Baseball. Registration for players and coaches is still being held during daytime business hours at the Miller Donmoyer Family Health Center, 255 W. Spruce St., Shamokin. All players need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and any new player to the league must bring the child's original or state-certified birth certificate. Registration fee is $50 for the first child and $25 for each additional child in the same family. Call 644-5050 during business hours with any questions.
Shamokin-Coal Township Division of MCJBL
Teams are still accepting player registrations from four to 12 years old at the indoor spring training at the Cabrini Youth Center Building at Cherry and Webster streets Monday through Friday, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. through March. Players can either be residents of the Shamokin Area school district, attend Lourdes or Line Mountain and reside in Zerbe Township. Copy of birth certificates are required. 1,000th Win Celebration
Our Lady of Lourdes Regional School will host a celebration Saturday, March 29, of the Red Raider boys basketball team's 1,000th victory this season. Program begins at 5 p.m. at the school. Adults, $20. Children under 12, $8. Members of the 2013-14 boys basketball team and cheerleaders will be guests of the Lourdes Boosters. Derek Crowl Memorial Basketball Tournament
The seventh annual Derek Crowl Memorial basketball tournament will be held Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6. This is a double-elimination tournament held at the Ralpho Township gym in Elysburg. Entrance fee is $75 and teams should consist of 5 to 8 players. Registration is open until April 1, although teams should register as soon as possible since there are a limited number of slots open. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase. All proceeds go into a scholarship fund at Southern Columbia. The Bernie Romanoski Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame will meet March 24, 6 p.m., at Brewser's Sports Grille.
Zerbe Rod and Gun Club

District 13 Little League Umpires
Clinic, Saturday, March 29, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Selinsgrove High School, Broad Street, Selinsgrove. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Open to anyone age 13 or older who is interested in umpiring Little League baseball or softball. Clinic will be limited to the first 75 participants. Cost is $20 per participant, which includes clinic material, morning refreshments and lunch. Pre-registration is required. Contact Dean Schreiber at 570-374-1812 to pre-register.
