Keystone Rules Interpretation
The Keystone Chapter of PIAA football officials meeting dates for this season are Sept. 17, Oct. 1, 15 and Oct. 29.
Mount Carmel Supper Club
The Red Tornado Supper Club will meet at 6:15 p.m. every Thursday evening during football season at Mattucci's. Everyone is welcome to greet head coach Carmen DeFrancesco, his staff, players and cheerleaders.
Northwestern, Juvenile Court Golf Tournament
The annual Northwestern Academy and Northumberland County Juvenile Court Advisory Board Golf Tournament will be held Monday, Oct. 14, at Indian Hills Golf and Tennis Club. Northumberland County Rec Committee
The Northumberland County Recreation Committee is taking applications for new members. Persons interested in becoming a member should visit the Northumberland County website and fill out an application, which can be dropped off at the county office. Persons can also contact Chairman Peter Long at pistol00@ptd.net or Secretary Debra Dimm (debra.dimm@zartman.com) and they can forward an application.
Ralpho Fall Baseball Tournament
Ralpho Fall Baseball Tournament will be held Sept. 28-29, in Elysburg for players ages 8-11. For more information contact Chip Wetzel at 527-0339 or Dave Brokus at 490-9375.
Indian Hills Fall Festival
The two-day tournament, held Sept. 28 and 29, will accept the first 50 two-man teams. The tournament is a 36-hole better ball of partners setup with teams being flighted into four flights after 18 holes. It will be a shotgun start both days, starting at 9 a.m. each day. Each player is allowed two practice rounds between Sept. 20 and 27. Entry fee is $200 per team, although carts are not included. Contact, Don Spieller at 644-1972 or at ihgcproshop@aol.com
MCA Football Team Honored
The Ed Romance Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame will honor the 1973 team during the Selinsgrove game, Oct. 25. All players, cheerleaders and coaches from that team is invited to tailgate before and after the game. For information, call 205-0762.
Baseball Tryouts
The Lower Anthracite Miners 13U wooden bat travel team will be holding a one-day tryout, Saturday, Sept. 14, from 1-3 p.m., at the Ramp Field in Kulpmont. A team is being selected for the 2014 spring/summer season.
SYBL Registration
Shamokin Youth Basketball League registration will be held in the lobby of the American Legion Building in downtown Shamokin from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 15, 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 20, 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 21 and 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 5.
Tunnel to Towers 5K Run
The Northumberland County Tunnel to Towers 5K Run/Walk and chicken barbecue will be held Saturday, Sept. 14. Proceeds benefit the Northumberland County Tunnel to Towers Team in support of the Stephen Siller Foundation. Registration is at the Claude Kehler Memorial Park, Third and Arch streets, Shamokin, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Race begins at 10 a.m. at the park. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each of eight separate male and female age groups. Refreshments will follow the race.
