Shamokin volleyball dealt first loss

POTTSVILLE - Shamokin lost its first match of the year with a 3-1 defeat to Nativity in volleyball Thursday.

The Indians won the second set 25-19, but lost 25-13, 15-13 and 25-19.

Stefanie Hile led the Indians' effort with 11 kills, Olivia Bonshock added 10 kils and Helena Supsic and Bre Bonshock combined for 21 digs. Ashley Huxta also had 18 assists for Shamokin (3-1).

ALMEDIA - Jarred Rachau scored Shamokin's first goal of the season on an assist from Ryan Gass, but the Indians lost their HAC-II game to Central Columbia, who led by just two goals at half.
