Mount Carmel Area Track and Field Camp
Track and field camp, run by the Mount Carmel Area track and field team and coaches, for children entering first through eighth grades will be August 5 to 8 from 9 to 11 a.m. each day at the Silver Bowl. Cost is $45 and includes a camp t-shirt. August 8 will be a mini track meet for the campers to show off their skills. Southern Columbia Girls Basketball Camp

Little Shamokin Indians
Equipment handout will be Saturday, July 27, 1-5 p.m. for football players only at Renn's Storage on S. 5th St. Monthly meeting, Sunday, July 21, 7 p.m. at O'Brien's. All football and cheerleading coaches are required to attend.
Mount Carmel Track Unavailable
The Mount Carmel Area track will be undergoing renovations and will not be available for walking or jogging. Persons who wish to walk or jog can do so at the high school parking lots or on the jogging track around the soccer field.
Shamokin Area Physicals Scheduled
Shamokin Area Middle/High School will be offering fall sports physicals on Wednesday, July 17, with July 31 a makeup date. Physicals will cost $20, cash only, paid at the time of the physical. Time schedule is as follows: 2 p.m. - Junior high, JV and varsity football, and football cheerleading; 2:30 - Junior high and varsity cross country; 3 p.m. - Boys and girls soccer; 3:15 p.m. - Volleyball and junior high girls basketball; 3:30 - Junior high girls softball. PIAA physical evaluation forms and Shamokin Area athletic policy packets must be picked up in the principal's office before receiving a physical. Physical forms an also be downloaded at Indians.k12.pa.us by selecting the high school and middle school and clicking on "Athletic Forms" along the left. All forms must be completed by a parent/guardian prior to arriving On July 17. Students who do not have a completed PIAA physical evaluation will not be permitted to participate in a fall sport.
Shamokin Area Football Reserve Seats
Anyone interested in reserve seats for the Shamokin Area varsity football games this fall is encouraged to call 648-5731, ext. 3533. Cost for adult tickets for five home games is $27.50, senior citizen discount for five home games is $10.
SYBL Open Gym
The Shamokin Youth Basketball League will host a weekly open gym for players going into kindergarten through eighth grades. Schedule is: Monday - kindergarten to second grade, 6 to 7 p.m.; Wednesday - third and fourth grades, 6 to 7:15 p.m.; Thursday - fifth through eighth grades, 6 to 7:15 p.m. Open gym will be used to teach the fundamentals of the game. There is no charge and sessions are run by coaches from the league.
North Schuylkill Fall Physicals
Physicals for the 2013 fall sports season at North Schuylkill will be held Saturday, July 27. There will be a $10 fee for a physical and the fee must be paid before an athlete can receive a physical. Physical packets must be completed and will be available the day of the physicals. Schedule is: junior high girls basketball, 8 a.m.; girls volleyball, 8:30; junior high football cheerleading, 8:45; varsity football cheerleading, 9 a.m.; junior high cross country, 9:15; varsity cross country, 9:45; girls soccer, 10 a.m.; boys soccer, 10:30; golf, 10:45; junior high football, 11 a.m.; jv and varsity football, 11:45 a.m.
Southern Columbia Field Hockey Camp

Baseball/Softball Clinic
July 23-26, 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. each day at the sports complex at the Sunbury Bible Church, Rout 11, Northumberland. The clinics will feature former Major League players Jeff Hearron and Don Gordon. Clinic is for boys and girls ages 5-12 for baseball, and girls ages 8-12 for softball.
Shamokin AYSO Swim Party
Annual swim party at Knoebel's pool for all 2012-13 Shamokin AYSO players on Wednesday, July 24 from 5 p.m. to close. Rain date is Wednesday, July 31. Admission is free and pizza will be provided for all players and coaches. Players are asked to bring the following items: U-6 - chips, pretzels or drinks; U-8 - desserts or drinks; U-10 - paper plates, cups or napkins; U-12 - drinks; U-14 - drinks.
Wayside Open Golf Scramble
The 25th annual Wayside Open Golf Scramble will be held Saturday, Aug. 10 at Indian Hills Golf Club. Double shotgun starts will be held at 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Players may register on a first-come, first-paid basis for either shotgun. The tournament includes coffee, donuts, a gift, carts, guest fees, lunch, beer, prizes and a pig roast with live entertainment. The Wayside Open has dedicated all monies raised to the Wiest-Wehry Scholarship fund awarded to students in the Line Mountain, Tri-Valley, Mount Carmel, Shikellamy and Southern Columbia school districts. Hole sponsors are being accepted and more information can be obtained by e-mailing Don Spieller at ihgcproshop@aol.com. Cost is $80 until Aug. 1 and after Aug. 3 it will be $85. Only paid applications will be accepted.
Coalcracker Slugfest

Maine Fire Co. Golf Tournament
Two-man scramble, Aug. 3, at Indian Hills Golf Course. Registration is 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Entrance fee is $60 per person and includes greens fees, cart, hot dog and beer at the course. Central Pa. Outlaws Tryouts
The Central Pa. Outlaws fastpitch tournament softball team will conduct tryouts for the 2014 U14 and U16 teams at the Line Mountain Community Field, located at 1001 Dairy Rd., Mandata, July 31 at 6 p.m. and Aug. 11 at 4:30 p.m. The team practices in Mount Carmel, Elysburg and Mandata. Red Tornado Open
