Shamokin Area Cheerleading
Tryouts for junior high, junior varsity and varsity football squads only will be held Sunday, June 23, at noon in the high school gym. Practices for tryouts will be held from 6-8 p.m. June 18 at the Annex, June 19 at the high school and June 20 at the Annex. Anyone signed up but unable to attend tryouts should learn the cheer/sideline and submit a video to either Mr. Kashner or Mrs. Zimmerman.
Southern Columbia Girls Soccer Camp
A girls soccer camp, open to players from all areas, will be conducted by the Southern Columbia girls soccer coaches and players from July 15 to 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. each day at the high school soccer fields. Registration forms can be obtained in the middle and elementary school offices or online at http://hs.scasd.us/girlsoccer/GirlsSoccer/Home.html. Cost is $50 and the camp is designed to provide girls the opportunity to focus on fundamental technical instruction in a relaxed and fun learning environment. Mount Carmel Area Track and Field Camp
Track and field camp, run by the Mount Carmel Area track and field team and coaches, for children entering first through eighth grades will be August 5 to 8 from 9 to 11 a.m. each day at the Silver Bowl. Cost is $45 and includes a camp t-shirt. August 8 will be a mini track meet for the campers to show off their skills. Southern Columbia Girls Basketball Camp

Little Shamokin Indians
Open registration for anyone ages 5-12 interested in signing up by contacting Dan Stoud at (570) 875-7491 or Nicole Bozza at (570) 847-0371. The next meeting will be Sunday, June 23, 7 p.m. at O'Brien's. All coaches should attend.
Indian Hills Junior Golf Schools
Indian Hills Golf Club will have two separate golf schools this summer on June 25 to 27. A Snag Golf class for kids six to 11 years old who have not been formally introduced to the game will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. with a snack in the middle. All equipment will be provided. An advanced class will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the same days. It is for players ages 10 to 18 years old who have been playing for at least one year. Central Susquehanna Opportunities Golf Classic
The ninth annual golf tournament will be held Monday, July 15 at Frosty Valley Country Club in Danville. Play starts at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start for the four-person scramble. The event will be held rain or shine. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in three flights, with specialty prizes awarded for closest to the pins and longest drive and door prizes. A portion of the funds raised will go toward providing a variety of energy-related services to low-income individuals or households. Mount Carmel Track Unavailable
The Mount Carmel Area track will be undergoing renovations and will not be available for walking or jogging. Persons who wish to walk or jog can do so at the high school parking lots or on the jogging track around the soccer field.
Shamokin Area Physicals Scheduled
Shamokin Area Middle/High School will be offering fall sports physicals on Wednesday, July 17, with July 31 a makeup date. Physicals will cost $20, cash only, paid at the time of the physical. Time schedule is as follows: 2 p.m. - Junior high, JV and varsity football, and football cheerleading; 2:30 - Junior high and varsity cross country; 3 p.m. - Boys and girls soccer; 3:15 p.m. - Volleyball and junior high girls basketball; 3:30 - Junior high girls softball. PIAA physical evaluation forms and Shamokin Area athletic policy packets must be picked up in the principal's office before receiving a physical. Physical forms an also be downloaded at Indians.k12.pa.us by selecting the high school and middle school and clicking on "Athletic Forms" along the left. All forms must be completed by a parent/guardian prior to arriving On July 17. Students who do not have a completed PIAA physical evaluation will not be permitted to participate in a fall sport.
Kulpmont Cougars Registration
Kulpmont Football and Baseball Association will have registration for Cougars football and cheerleading on Tuesday, June 25, and Wednesday, July 3, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the borough hall. Children six years and older can register. New players must bring a copy of their birth certificate, registration fee will apply. Any questions, call Ray at 205-4226.
MCA Track Banquet
The Mount Carmel Area track and field team will be holding its annual banquet for senior members of the team at the Mount Carmel Elks on Thursday, June 27 at 6 p.m. Team members should contact Coach Ditchey or Coach Farronato with the number of people who plan to attend.
Shamokin Area Football Reserve Seats
Anyone interested in reserve seats for the Shamokin Area varsity football games this fall are encouraged to call 648-5731, ext. 3533. Cost for adult tickets for five home games is $27.50, senior citizen discout for five home games is $10.
Line Mountain 7-on-7 Soccer Tournament
Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, June 22 at 9 a.m. and will host boys and girls middle and high school teams, as well as adult coed team from across the area. Champions will be crowned in all five divisions. Sports vendors and booster fundraising tables will be available all day and representatives from Geisinger Sports Medicine will be on site to talk to players, coaches and parents about sports related concussions and concussion management.
SYBL Open Gym
Starting Monday, June 24, the Shamokin Youth Basketball League will host a weekly open gym for players going into kindergarten through eighth grades. Schedule is: Monday - kindergarten to second grade, 6 to 7 p.m.; Wednesday - third and fourth grades, 6 to 7:15 p.m.; Thursday - fifth through eighth grades, 6 to 7:15 p.m. Open gym will be used to teach the fundamentals of the game. There is no charge and sessions are run by coaches from the league.
Cardinals Swim Party
A swim party and registration for the Cardinals of the Shamokin Youth Football League will be Friday, June 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Edgewood Pool in Coal Township.
North Schuylkill Fall Physicals
Physicals for the 2013 fall sports season at North Schuylkill will be held Saturday, July 27. There will be a $10 fee for a physical and the fee must be paid before an athlete can receive a physical. Physical packets must be completed and will be available the day of the physicals. Schedule is: junior high girls basketball, 8 a.m.; girls volleyball, 8:30; junior high football cheerleading, 8:45; varsity football cheerleading, 9 a.m.; junior high cross country, 9:15; varsity cross country, 9:45; girls soccer, 10 a.m.; boys soccer, 10:30; golf, 10:45; junior high football, 11 a.m.; jv and varsity football, 11:45 a.m.
Shamokin Area Junior High/Freshmen Football
Registration for players in grades seven through ninth for Shamokin Area's junior high and freshmen football teams is Monday, July 1 at 6 p.m. at Kemp Memorial Stadium.
