Kulpmont Football/Baseball Association

Meetings, first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.

Coal Runnings

Running club, meets at 5:30 p.m. each Monday at Shamokin Area's Kemp Memorial Stadium parking lot. Open to runners of all ages. More on Facebook at coalrunnings.

Lourdes Basketball Camp

Lourdes basketball camp will be held June 10-14, from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. daily. The camp is for boys and girls grades 1-7. Cost is $75 per camper if you register before June 1. Persons can register by contacting boys varsity coach Pete Long (644-5218) or by picking up an application at the main office.

Shamokin Area Basketball Camp

Open to boys and girls entering first through eighth grade, this camp run by the boys and girls varsity coaches will take place Monday, June 17 to Thursday, June 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Shamokin Area Middle/High School gym. The camp is designed to expose players to the basic fundamentals and develop an interest in basketball. Early registration cost of the camp is $50 by May 25. After May 25, cost is $60. Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt at the end of the week. Applications are available in the elementary and middle/high schools. Mount Carmel Basketball Camp

Mount Carmel Area Youth Basketball Camp will be held June 10-13 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the high school gym. Children ages 7-12 are invited to attend. Each camper will receive a t-shirt, and lunch will also be available. Cost of the camp is $45. Applications can be picked up in the elementary school office or the high school athletic office. The first 60 applications will be accepted. All completed applications should be sent to John Lazicki at 300 S. Pine St., Mount Carmel. For more information, please call 205-1106.

Sacavage Memorial Golf Tournament

The Mount Carmel Eagles will hold the Charles Sacavage Memorial Golf Tournament June 15, at Knoebel's Three Ponds Golf Course. The event is a two-man scramble, with refreshments, beverages and monetary prizes. For more information call Charles Feifer at 205-2737 or Greg Sacavage at 205-6650.

Mount Carmel Area AYSO

Registration for the fall 2013/spring 2014 will be Saturday, June 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the large shed at the Fifth Street fields. Cost is $40 for first child and $35 for each additional child per family. Special discounts will be availabe for those who volunteer to coach or referee their child's team. There are also fall-only and spring-only discounts. For more information, contact Mark at 373-1596.

Shamokin AYSO

Registration for Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 will be Friday, June 14 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus in Shamokin. Children must turn 4 by July 31, 2013 to be eligible to play. There is an $8 discount if registration is completed by June 14, otherwise cost is $40 and uniform fee is $25. An equipment and uniform exchange will also be conducted at this time. Bring old uniforms, shin guards, cleats and other items to donate. Used items will also be available to buy at discounted prices. Southern Columbia Girls Soccer Camp

A girls soccer camp, open to players from all areas, will be conducted by the Southern Columbia girls soccer coaches and players from July 15 to 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. each day at the high school soccer fields. Registration forms can be obtained in the middle and elementary school offices or online at http://hs.scasd.us/girlsoccer/GirlsSoccer/Home.html. Cost is $50 and the camp is designed to provide girls the opportunity to focus on fundamental technical instruction in a relaxed and fun learning environment. Mount Carmel Area Track and Field Camp

Track and field camp, run by the Mount Carmel Area track and field team and coaches, for children entering first through eighth grades will be August 5 to 8 from 9 to 11 a.m. each day at the Silver Bowl. Cost is $45 and includes a camp t-shirt. August 8 will be a mini track meet for the campers to show off their skills. Southern Columbia Girls Basketball Camp

Camp will run from July 29 to Aug. 1 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. for girls entering second through ninth grades. Cost is $65 if paid before July 1 and $75 if paid after. For more information, contatct Kevin Collins at 933-0305 or Kim Chaundy at 205-2351.

Granby Wrestling Camp at Line Mountain

Line Mountain High School will hold Granby style wrestling camp June 17-19 from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. each day. Cost is $220 with an additional $15 for provided lunch. Clinician is Keith Lowrance. For more information call Mike Martz at (570) 274-6593.

Little Shamokin Indians

Open registration for anyone ages 5-12 interested in signing up by contacting Dan Stoud at (570) 875-7491 or Nicole Bozza at (570) 847-0371. The next meeting will be Sunday, June 23, 7 p.m. at O'Brien's. All coaches should attend.

Indian Hills Junior Golf Schools

Indian Hills Golf Club will have two separate golf schools this summer on June 25 to 27. A Snag Golf class for kids six to 11 years old who have not been formally introduced to the game will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. with a snack in the middle. All equipment will be provided. An advanced class will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the same days. It is for players ages 10 to 18 years old who have been playing for at least one year. This class will improve all facets of the game. All classes will be run by Indian Hills Golf Pro Don Spieller. For more information, call (570) 644-1972.

Red Tornado Touchdown Club Meeting

The Red Tornado Touchdown Club will hold a mandatory meeting on Thursday, June 13 at 7 p.m. in the LGL of the High School. Parents of all players, junior high through seniors, should attend.

S-MC Little League All-Star Tryouts

Any player residing in the Shamokin or Mount Carmel school districts and has met the Little League participation requirements is eligible to try out for the All-Star teams. Tryouts for the 12-year-old team will be Monday, June 10 at 5 p.m. at the Faust Field. Rain date is Tuesday, June 11. Tryouts for the 9-10-year-old team will be Tuesday, June 11 at 5 p.m. at the Faust Field. Rain date is Wednesday, June 12. Tryouts for the 11-year-old team will be Saturday, June 15 at 9 a.m. Rain date is 5 p.m. Saturday, June 15 or if rain persists Saturday on Monday, June 17 at 5 p.m. For more information, contact Dr. Miller at 644-5050.

Central Susquehanna Opportunities Golf Classic

The ninth annual golf tournament will be held Monday, July 15 at Frosty Valley Country Club in Danville. Play starts at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start for the four-person scramble. The event will be held rain or shine. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in three flights, with specialty prizes awarded for closest to the pins and longest drive and door prizes. A portion of the funds raised will go toward providing a variety of energy-related services to low-income individuals or households. MCA Sharks Swim Team

Registration for summer swim team, Monday, June 10 through Thursday, June 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Mount Carmel high school pool. Cost is $25 for first registered child per family and $10 for each additional child.

Fairview Gun Club Horseshoe Tournament

Two-man round-robin format tournament, Saturday, June 15. Registration starts at 9:30 and event will be held rain or shine. NHPA rules will apply. Food and beverages will be available.

Mount Carmel track unavailable

Starting Monday, June 10, the Mount Carmel Area track will be undergoing renovations and will not be available for walking or jogging. Persons who wish to walk or jog can do so at the high school parking lots or on the jogging track around the soccer field.
