Special Olympic Swim Practice

Anthracite Heritage Run
Fourth annual Anthracite Heritage 5K run or walk, Saturday, May 25, starting at 9 a.m. Starting location is Kemp Memorial Stadium. Entry fee is $15 by May 17, and $20 the day of the race. Medals will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in eight age groups. Runners can register online at www.parunners.com. Trevorton Co-ed Softball League
Any team, with at least two females and seven or eight males on the playing field at all times, wishing to enter the league can contact Brian Deiter at 850-0751. The season is tentatively scheduled to begin Sunday, May 19.
Youth Football Camp
A two-day camp on Saturday, May 25 and 26 for youth players ages eight to 13 will be held at Sports Zone in Northumberland. Cost is $90 per player and includes a t-shirt. Hillside Coaches Golf Tournament
The Hillside Coaches will host a golf tournament Friday, May 17, at Knoebel's Three Ponds Golf Course. Players and sponsors are needed. For more information call Knoebels at 672-9064.
Lourdes Basketball Camp
Lourdes basketball camp will be held June 10-14, from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. daily. The camp is for boys and girls grades 1-7. Cost is $75 per camper if you register before June 1. Persons can register by contacting boys varsity coach Pete Long (644-5218) or by picking up an application at the main office.
Shamokin Area Basketball Camp
Open to boys and girls entering first through eighth grade, this camp run by the boys and girls varsity coaches will take place Monday, June 17 to Thursday, June 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Shamokin Area Middle/High School gym. The camp is designed to expose players to the basic fundamentals and develop an interest in basketball. Early registration cost of the camp is $50 by May 25. After May 25, cost is $60. Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt at the end of the week. Applications are available in the elementary and middle/high schools. MIghty Masser "After Dark" Nighttime 5K Run/Walk
The fifth annual Mighty Masser's "After Dark" Nighttime 5K Run will be held on Friday, May 31 at Kemp Memorial Stadium to benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Participants must provide their own illumination (i.e. headlamps, flashlights, etc.). Glow sticks will be provided. Registration begins at 7:30 p.m. Race begins approximately at 9. Entry fee is $25. Early registration fee is $20 through May 17. Special "Boston Strong" t-shirt will be given to all those who preregister. Prizes will go to the first place overall male and female finishers, and awards will be given to the top three finishers in each of eight separate male and female age groups. The event will be professionally timed. Post-race food and beverages will be available. Proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. Mount Carmel Basketball Camp
Mount Carmel Area Youth Basketball Camp will be held June 10-13 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the high school gym. Children ages 7-12 are invited to attend. Each camper will receive a t-shirt, and lunch will also be available. Cost of the camp is $45. Applications can be picked up in the elementary school office or the high school athletic office. Sacavage Memorial Golf Tournament
