Kulpmont Football/Baseball Association

Meetings, first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.

Coal Runnings

Running club, meets at 5:30 p.m. each Monday at Shamokin Area's Kemp Memorial Stadium parking lot. Open to runners of all ages. More on Facebook at coalrunnings.

Special Olympic Swim Practice

Practices will run 6-8 p.m. at the Shamokin pool each Friday through the end of May. New athletes and volunteers are welcome. For more information, contact Arden Miller at 374-5369.

YMCA Golf Tournament

The Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA is hosting the 22nd annual Truman H. Purdy Memorial Golf Tournament, Wednesday, May 8 at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club. There are morning and afternoon flights available, as well as several sponsorship opportunities. Prizes available include tickets to the AT&T National at Congressional Country Club, round of golf for four at Eagles Mere and a set of irons for the closest to the pin prize. Bus Trip Scheduled

A bus trip to see the Philadelphia Phillies play the Pittsburgh Pirates in Pittsburgh July 2 is being organized. The bus will leave Danville at 12 noon. Game time is 7 p.m. Price is $75, which includes ticket, transportation, beverages and snacks. Seats are in section 109 (can be seen on the Pirates official web site). K of C Charity Golf Tournament

The Shamokin and Kulpmont Knights of Columbus chapters are jointly sponsoring a golf tournament to benefit the Wounded Warrior Fund and Our Lady of Lourdes scholarships. The tournament will be Saturday, May 4 at the Rolling Hills Golf Course. Cost is $60 per person and includes greens fee, refreshments on the course and dinner. Hole sponsorships are also available. Line Mountain Little Eagles

Trevorton Co-ed Softball League

Any team, with at least two females and seven or eight males on the playing field at all times, wishing to enter the league can contact Brian Deiter at 850-0751. The season is tentatively scheduled to begin Sunday, May 19.

Cabrini Baseball competition

Cabrini baseball will host a free Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run competition for area youths Sunday, May 5, 1 p.m., at the Cabrini field, Logan and Wabash streets, Coal Township. Boys and girls will compete separately in four age groups: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14 and can advance through four levels of competition including team championships at Major League ballparks and the national finals at the 2013 All-Star Game. All participants need to bring a copy of their birth certificate and have a parent or guardian fill out a registration/waiver form. For questions, contact Leo Mirolli at 570-648-0156.

Youth Football Camp

A two-day camp on Saturday, May 25 and 26 for youth players ages eight to 13 will be held at Sports Zone in Northumberland. Cost is $90 per player and includes a t-shirt. The camp will feature collegiate All-Americans and college and high school coaches. To register, contact Goaline Academy at 898-2652.

Hillside Coaches Golf Tournament

The Hillside Coaches will host a golf tournament Friday, May 17, at Knoebel's Three Ponds Golf Course. Players and sponsors are needed. For more information call Knoebels at 672-9064.

Lourdes Basketball Camp

Lourdes basketball camp will be held June 10-14, from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. daily. The camp is for boys and girls grades 1-7. Cost is $75 per camper if you register before June 1. Persons can register by contacting boys varsity coach Pete Long (644-5218) or by picking up an application at the main office.

Bernie Romanoski Chapter Pa. Sports Hall of Fame

Meeting, Monday, May 6, 6 p.m. at Harry's Grille. All interested are welcome.

Shamokin Area Basketball Camp

Open to boys and girls entering first through eighth grade, this camp run by the boys and girls varsity coaches will take place Monday, June 17 to Thursday, June 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Shamokin Area Middle/High School gym. The camp is designed to expose players to the basic fundamentals and develop an interest in basketball. Early registration cost of the camp is $50 by May 25. After May 25, cost is $60. Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt at the end of the week. Applications are available in the elementary and middle/high schools.
