ALMEDIA - Southern Columbia finally got a signature win this season with a 9-5 Heartland Conference Division II softball victory over Central Columbia on Tuesday.
Kayla Lavella went 3-for-4 with two singles and a double and scored two runs to lead Southern's offense. Taylor Hoffman also had three singles for the Tigers, and freshman Jadyn Dunkleberger had two singles.
Southern Columbia plays Warrior Run Thursday at home.

Funk belted two hits apiece, leading Lourdes Regional to a 10-0 non-league softball victory over Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech on Tuesday.
Klembara drove in two runs with a triple and single, while Funk pushed three runs across with two singles.
CharLee Rosini knocked in two with a single.
Rosini collected the victory for Lourdes (11-4), striking out three and issuing three free passes.

MONTOURSVILLE - Elijah Duran was a triple winner, and Eric Joraskie and Rob Varano each double winners as Mount Carmel improved to 6-1 on the season.
Duran won the high hurdles, long and triple jumps, Joraskie the shot put and discus, and Varano the high jump and pole vault. Joraskie had a career-best 50 feet, 11½ inches in the shot put. Other Mount Carmel winners were Treyvon White (300 hurdles), Nate Bartos (3200) and the 3200 and 400-meter relays.
