Tuesday's scheduled playoff basketball games involving Lourdes Regional and Shamokin Area were postponed until today because of a winter storm warning which forecast up to eight inches of snow for Pennsylvania's northern tier.

Lourdes boys, set to play Sullivan County at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Danville, in a District 4 Class A semifinal game will instead play at 6:30 tonight at Montoursville.

Lourdes girls will play Benton at 5 p.m. Wednesday, also at Montoursville in a Class A semifinal game. The Red Raiders are attempting to win their fifth straight district title.

Those games will be followed by a Class AA boys game between Wellsboro and East Juniata.

Shamokin Area girls, set to play Athens Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Williamsport, will play at the same time and place today in Class AAA action. That game will be followed by a AAA boys game between Athens and Milton. Both games are in the semifinal round.

Games originally scheduled for Wednesday, including Mount Carmel Area and Southern Columbia Area girls teams, have not been changed.

Mount Carmel Area's girls will play Muncy at 6 p.m. at Danville, and Southern Columbia's girls will play Lewisburg at 6 p.m. at Milton.

The winners of those two games will meet in the Class AA final, while the losers still have a chance to go to the state playoffs with a win in a third-place game.

The second game at Danville will be a Class A boys affair between St. John Neumann and Muncy, while the second game at Milton will be the much-anticipated Class AA boys quarterfinal between Loyalsock and Lewisburg.
