Five area basketball teams will take the court Tuesday and Wednesday night in various District 4 tournament semifinals.
Tuesday, the Shamokin Area girls will be in action at 6 p.m. at Williamsport High School when they meet No. 1 seed Athens for a berth in the Class AAA championship game. The winner of that one will meet the winner of the Danville-Shikellamy matchup being played Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Shamokin Area.
Also Tuesday, the boys and girls teams from Lourdes Regional will both be in action at Danville High School in Class A contests. At 6 p.m., the girls will match up with Benton, with the winner meeting the winner of Sayre-Northeast Bradford game being played Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Troy. Following the girls game, the Lourdes boys will take the floor against Sullivan County at 7:30 p.m. The winner of that one gets the winner of between St. John Neumann and Muncy, a game being played Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Danville.
Wednesday, in Class AA girls, both Mount Carmel Area and Southern Columbia will be in action.
Mount Carmel will meet Muncy at 6 p.m. at Danville High School, while Southern Columbia will play Lewisburg at 6 p.m. at Milton. The winners of those games will meet for the District championship.
