Kulpmont Football/Baseball Association

Meetings, first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. Baseball, softball, t-ball and teener registrations will be held Monday, Feb. 11 and Wednesday, Feb. 13 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Kulpmont Borough Hall. First time players must provide a copy of their birth certificate. Registration fee will apply. (The meeting originally scheduled for Feb. 6 has been postponed and rescheduled for Feb. 13)

Coal Runnings

Running club, meets at 5:30 p.m. each Monday at Shamokin Area's Kemp Memorial Stadium parking lot. Open to runners of all ages. More on Facebook at coalrunnings.

Little League Registration

Any child ages four to 12 residing in the Shamokin Area or Mount Carmel Area School Districts may register to play Little League Baseball. Registration for players and coaches will be Feb. 16 and 23, 10 a.m. to noon, and Feb. 27, 7-9 p.m. at the Miller Donmoyer Family Health Center, 255 W. Spruce St., Shamokin. All players must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and any player new to the league must bring the child's original or state-certified birth certificate. Fee is $25 for the first child and $15 for each additional child in the same family. After Feb. 27, the fee is $40 for the first child and $20 for each additional child in the same family.

Locust Gap Baseball

Player registration for youths ages 4-15, Sunday, Feb. 10, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Locust Gap Fire Co. New players must provide a copy of their birth certificate. Registration fee is $30 for the first player in a family, and $15 for each sibling after that. Cost of a jersey, if needed, will be $20. All players must attend to receive fund raisers and contracts. There is a restriction of five players per age group and returning players are given preference for roster spots. For additional information, contact Tom Moser at 898-0277.

Lady Bombers Girls Softball League

The league will be having an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner, Saturday, Feb. 23, at Restoration Ministries Church Hall from 3 to 7 p.m. Cost is $8 per ticket and includes salad, spaghetti with meat sauce, bread, fruit cup, baked good and drink. North Schuylkill Spring Physicals

North Schuylkill Jr./Sr. High School will be conducting its spring sports physicals on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 9 a.m. Any student interested in going out for baseball, softball or track, and who has not had a physical for a fall or winter sport, must get their physical at this time. There is a $10 fee for the physical. Students who have already had a physical for a previous sport must still sign up that day for the sport of their choice.

Little Shamokin Indians

Registration, Sunday, Feb. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at O'Brien's Pizza. Cost is $10 for one child or $15 for a family through the end of March. First-time players need to provide a copy of their birth certificate. Players ages five and up are eligible to participate. A meeting will follow the registration time. Shamokin Youth Softball

Open gym practice for youth girls softball ages eight to 14 of the Shamokin Area School District will be held at the annex gym on the following Sundays: Feb. 10, Feb. 24 and March 10. Girls ages eight to 10 will meet from 4 to 5:15 p.m. and girls 11 to 14 will meet from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. All girls must attend the Shamokin Area School District.

Ed Romance Hall of Fame

The 35th annual banquet for the Ed Romance Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame will be held March 23. Tickets are available by calling Frank Niglio at 205-0762 or by visiting Community Pharmacy.

South Columbia Little League

Any child from South Columbia Little League areas, which includes: Catawissa, Roaring Creek Valley and Ralpho areas who have not yet registered for baseball or softball for the 2013 Little League season, please contact Gary Stine 394-2640. Initial fee is $15 per child, uniform and fundraising fees are additional. Copies of birth certificate and three proofs of residency are required.

Instructional Baseball Clinic

Saturday, March 9, 9 a.m. to noon, at the Shamokin Area High School gym. Open to any child, ages 4-12. Fee is $10. Each child receives a t-shirt. Instructors include local baseball experts. Registration may be completed at the Shamokin-Mount Carmel Little League registrations or by calling 644-5050, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Deadline to register is Feb. 27.

Shamokin Area Spring Physicals

Will be held Friday, Feb. 15 at 1 p.m. Students who plan on participating in a spring sport should attend. Any student who already had a physical for a fall or winter sport should complete a recertification paper. Physicals will be done by Dr. Wayne Miller for $20 in cash, and fee must be paid at the time of the physical. Times for each sport will be on the announcements. Forms, which may be downloaded from the district website, must be completed by a parent or guardian prior to the physical. Forms may also be picked up in the high school principal's office.

Mount Carmel Junior Baseball League

Meeting, Monday, Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. in the basement social hall of the Atlas Fire Co. All teams are requested to be present. Bylaws and playing rules will be voted upon.

Ralpho Tiger Youth Basketball

Basketball tournaments, for third and fourth grades, March 8-10; and for fifth and sixth grades, March 15-17 are being organized now. Games will be played in Elysburg, and entry fee is $150. Deadline for entry is March 1. For rules and an application, contact William Wetzel at 527-0339.

Long's Teener Baseball

Registration, Saturday, Feb. 23 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 27 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Miller Donmoyer Family Health Center. New and returning players ages 13 to 15 are eligible to play. Registration fee is $40 and a copy of birth certificate is required. For more information, contact Brad Haupt at 259-8244.

Marion Heights Baseball

Registration for Marion Heights junior baseball, Wednesday, Feb. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Ukranian Catholic Church, 141 E. Melrose St. Ages four to 12. For more information, contact Coach Elliott at 205-7394.

Girardville Biddy Basketball

Will hold the following tournaments: 7th-8th grade, Thursday to Sunday, Feb. 21-24; 3rd-4th grade, Thursday to Sunday, Feb. 28-March 3; 5th-6th grade, Thursday to Sunday, March 7-10. For more information, contact Ed Burns at 205-1941, Glenn Weist at 691-6057 or Paul Kowalick at 875-8088.

Special Olympic Swim Practice

Anthracite Fire Co. Baseball

Registrations for players ages four through 12 with the exception of seven year olds, Sunday, Feb. 10 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the upstairs meeting room of the Anthracite Fire Co. Cost is $25 for all players. For more information, contact Coach Todd at 339-3884. Returning players must also register.

Lourdes Softball

Open gym for varsity and junior high will be Sundays at 5 p.m.

SYGBL practice

Shamokin Youth Girls Basketball League practice Sunday, 12:30-2 p.m. (grades 3-6) and 2-4 p.m. (grades 7-9) at the Shamokin Area annex.

Registration for players ages four through 12, Sunday, Feb. 10 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Clover Hose truck room at Sixth and Oak streets in Mount Carmel.
