Greg Hodnett made a late-race pass of Mike Wagner to win the sprint car feature at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night.
Hodnett, of Thomasville, earned $4,500 for his eighth Port Royal win of the season and 16th overall in a sprinter owned by John Trone of Trone Outdoor Advertising.
The 30-lap main event was the make-up Labor Day Classic that was rained out back in September.
Hodnett found speed on the inside of the track late in the race and passed Wagner coming off turn four with one lap remaining to score the win.
Wagner hung on for second with Pat Cannon third, Sunbury's Mark Smith fourth and Selinsgrove's Blane Heimbach fifth.
Long-time racing veteran Rich Eichelberger of Dillsburg led all 20 laps of the super sportsman feature to record his first win of the season. The 61-year-old racer held off Scott Geesey in the closing laps. Rick Barr, Jay Fannasy and Scott Dellinger completed the top five.
It was Port Royal's final race of the 2012 season. Port Royal promoter Steve O'Neal announced next year's season opener as Saturday, March 16.
Cory Haas of Dallastown came from the 12th starting spot to win the season finale at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday. He inherited the lead when Brent Marks crashed while leading on lap 20. Marks had taken the lead only a few laps earlier from Logan Schuchart.
Track champion Danny Dietrich, Schuchart, Alan Krimes and Brian Montieth completed the top five.
Niki Young took the lead from Tim Wagaman on lap 10 and would go on to win the 358 sprint feature. Tim Berkheimer, Ryan Wilson, Wagaman and Tyler Ross completed the top five.
Daryn Pittman of Pittsboro, Ind., won his first sprint car feature of the season at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night. Pittman took the top spot from Glenndon Forsythe on lap 13 and held off track champion Greg Hodnett following a restart with three laps to go. Lance Dewease, Brian Montieth and Ryan Taylor were in the top five.
Pat Cannon of York won the 358 sprint feature and the track championship at the Grove on Friday night. Cannon came into the night 50 points out of the lead. Austin Hogue, Adrian Shaffer, Mark Smith and Jason Shultz followed Cannon. Eric Tomecek, who came into the race as the point leader, finished ninth.
