Lourdes Regional and Southern Columbia will open action this week in the District 4 softball postseason.
The Red Raiders, seeded seventh in the 11-team Class AA bracket, will meet tenth-seeded Loyalsock Township, Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at Mount Carmel Area.
The winner of that one will play at No. 2 seed Mifflinburg on Thursday.
In the other Tuesday games in Class AA, No. 8 Central Columbia hosts No. 9 Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech, with the winner to play at No. 1 Warrior Run on Thursday, and No. 6 Wellsboro hosting No. 11 South Williamsport, with the winner traveling to No. 3 Troy. In another Thursday game, No. 5 Bloomsburg is at No. 4 Towanda.
In Class A, No. 2 seed Southern Columbia hosts No. 7 Cowanesque Valley, Thursday at 4:30 p.m. In other Thursday games, No. 4 Wyalusing hosts No. 5 Montgomery, and No. 3 Muncy hosts No. 6 St. John Neumann. No. 1 Northeast Bradford has a bye to the semifinals.
