PHILADELPHIA - Gregory Slodysko, 9, of Hughestown, recently took first place in all-around in a gymnastics competition at Temple University.
Competing in Level 4 and the nine-year-old age group, Slodysko scored 91.9 points out of a possible 95. He scored 15.5 on floor exercise for first, 15.2 in vault for first and 15.9 on rings for first. He was second in parallel bars (15.2), third in high bar (15.5) and fifth in pommel horse (14.6).
Slodysko is a member of the Parkettes Boys National Gymnastics Training Center in Allentown and also trains at the Northeast Gymnastics Academy in Hanover Township. His sister, Gianna, also competes for the Northeast team.
Gregory is a son of Greg and Geriann Slodysko. Greg is a Shamokin native. His parents were the late Greg and Linda Slodysko. His wife is a native of Ridgway.
